Dev Murphy possesses a BA and an MA in English and has more than a decade's worth of experience proofreading, copyediting, and writing. She has spent five years teaching English Composition and Literature courses at the college level; she has also worked as a legal proofreader and copyeditor and as a research assistant on multiple literary research projects. 

She currently copyedits and ghostwrites on a freelance basis. She works on projects of all lengths and genres, including business, self-help, memoir/biography, and fiction. Murphy's work as an editor and ghostwriter requires that she possess familiarity with MLA, APA, and Chicago styles; a strong eye for detail; digital communication etiquette; familiarity with writing traditions and the current literary zeitgeist; and the ability to proofread, evaluate, and edit short- and longform writing with consistency, sensitivity, and discretion under pressure.
